After graduating college, my career in photography began with a local newspaper, documenting people and events in B&W film. My camera was a Pentax and my lens was a 50mm.  Every week I would interview and write an article or two, document and develop all imagery for the 15 page publication, and help with the lay-out and design of the paper before it went to print.

After moving to Washington DC, I began apprenticing with commercial and editorial photographers in the city.  This is a fantastic way to learn the business, make a living, and travel the world.  As a first assistant to the lead photographer, our clients included American Airlines, The New Yorker Magazine, L.L. Bean, Choice Hotels, Smithsonian Magazine, and many more.  My adventures from this time include: being locked in a chocolate factory overnight; almost being arrested for trespassing at a male-only event at RFK stadium in spite of my press credentials; and cabbing around Toulouse, France armed only with my high school French, searching for photographic rental equipment.

These experiences, and so many more, are what make my work different.

My studio space is located in Falmouth Foreside, Maine; though most of my work is on location.  I offer family and senior clients  the "boutique" treatment.  In a world of "shoot and burn", my studio practice is a full-service experience - from our initial phone call, through the session, and up to the moment I arrive at your house with your framed artwork, you are guided and served to the best of my abilities.

Branding clients are able to tap into my deep well of knowledge and experience to create imagery for social media or print use, all at once or on a monthly schedule. I provide insight and feedback on how to achieve your vision, or what your vision might look like through my eyes. As a professional, it is my job to make yours easier.

My family and I live in a 100 year old bungalow.  We call our place a "faux farm" because of our chickens, bees, pets, kids, and gardens.  I love to kayak and to cook, and enjoy playing softball and the saxophone. If you see me out and about, ask and I'll show you the real camera I ALWAYS have on me.

"You wow'ed us! Thank you for being our photographer this morning! You were so lovely and kind and very professional!
